KSC Fleets

KSC has a number of active Fleets. The chart below gives a description of each fleet and KSC contact information.

Cruising

  • Any boat meeting KSC cruising or day sailing guidelines -- that is, they must be in compliance with all applicable State of South Carolina laws, and must be propelled solely by a sail or sails while racing.
  • 1 or more crew
  • May race with main, jib and spinnaker

Flying Scot

  • 19’  One Design Dingy
  •  2 or 3 crew
  • Main,  jib and spinnaker

JY-15

  • 15’ One Design Dingy
  • 2 crew
  • Main and Jib

MC Scow

  • 16’ One Design Dingy
  • 1 or 2 crew

Multi-Hull

  • A-Cats, Nacra, Hobies, etc.
  • 1 or 2 crew
  • Depending on the design, may race with main, jib and spinnaker

Open Dinghy

One-design class mono-hull boats under 21’ waterline length meeting their class rules, and competing under the Portsmouth handicap rating system.

Van Moss

PHRF A

Keelboats meeting KSC PHRF bylaws and having a PHRF rating of 220 or lower.
